Does anyone like this song? This is my favourite album track of Dollar's, and I think it's the best vocal Thereze ever did.  It sounds like a good old-fashioned 60's R&B ballad with a nod to "I Got The Blues" by the Rolling Stones from their Sticky Fingers album.

The sax solos are brilliant as well as the piano.  I don't know why it wasn't put out as a single - this really has a lot of soul behind it.

I agree. I totally love this song, I think it is so much stronger than Loves gotta hold on me.
Thereza's vocals seem more passionate and determined and the arrangement is excellent.

A big thumbs up from me !!

The best of the tracks not released as singles from that album. Thereza shoud certainly have been given more leads.

I think this was based on "When I Need You" by Leo Sayer. It's one of Dollar's finest songs, and was WASTED on the B side of "Love Street". The songs should have been the other way round since "Loves Gotta Hold On Me" did so well.

It's a fantastic vocal and the production on it still stands up today. Thereza could really carry a ballad. Her soft voice just screamed "I'm vulnerable!" I wish they had written more in this style.

I Need Your Love is one of my favorite Dollar Songs.
Thereza's voice is brilliant and I still play this song
very often, it brings back great memories.

'I Need Your Love' is my joint favourite album track on 'Shooting Stars' with 'Star Control'. Big mistake not releasing the 'Love Street' flip as the A-side. Carrere clearly took their eyes off the ball with Dollar's winning formula at that time.

Love this song too... Such a wasted opportunity not releasing it after Love's Gotta Hold On Me was such a big hit!!!!!!!

What can I add to this?? nothing really as I agree with everything that's been said!! Dollar certainly had the bigger hits when they did ballad type songs with Thereza taking a lot of the vocals. I am glad that Love's Gotta Hold On Me was released as a single though, as I think it had slightly more "mass" appeal,  but I Need Your Love SHOULD have been released instead of Love Street.

Never realised before that I Need Your Love was the A side in Brazil!

Didn't know that either.
I think both songs, good as they are in their own right, were not up to single releases.

Pink and Blue from "The Dollar Album" was a great song and could have been released as an A side, and could have charted well in 1982,don't know why they decided to B side that track, great melody and vocals on that song.

That would explain why its so popular with the Mexicans on YouTube.

Wonder how well it did, seems like it was a decent hit over there with the comments on YouTube!

Looks like Dollar were reasonably well known in Latin America then.

Looking at the Brazil issue of the Shooting Stars LP  below, I Need Your Love is mentioned on the cover as well as the retitled  (Who Were You With) In The Moonlight

so perhaps both were hits there.

Also Shooting Star was released on Arista in Ecuador, copies turn up on ebay .

Wonder are there any more unknown collectibles from the area?
